MBBS · MS (Ortho) — AIIMS New DelhiDr. Hargovind SinghSpecialist for Joint Replacement, Robotic Surgery and Sports Injury — JaipurConsultant Joint Replacement, Sports Injury and Orthopaedic TraumaBombay Hospital, Trust, Sitapura, Jaipur7 years of experience

Dr. Hargovind Singh is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Bombay Hospital, Sitapura, Jaipur, with advanced expertise in Joint Replacement, Arthroscopy and Sports Injury, and Complex Trauma management. He completed his orthopaedic training at AIIMS New Delhi, followed by international clinical fellowships in Arthroplasty and Arthroscopy in Vienna and specialised training in Robotic Joint Replacement in Japan.

Specialisation in Joint Replacement and Endoprosthetics

Dr. Singh's primary focus is on total and partial joint replacement for hip and knee osteoarthritis, using modern muscle-sparing surgical techniques to optimally preserve function and mobility. For suitable patients, he performs unicompartmental knee replacement, preserving healthy joint structures and accelerating rehabilitation.

Hip replacements are performed using the Direct Anterior Approach (DAA/AMIS technique) — a minimally invasive, muscle-sparing operation that allows particularly rapid mobilisation after surgery. Dr. Singh is also proficient in Robotic Joint Replacement using MAKO, CORI, and VELYS platforms — delivering computer-guided precision for optimal implant positioning and long-term outcomes.

He performs both primary joint replacements and complex revision arthroplasty for failed or painful prostheses.

International Fellowships and Advanced Training

Dr. Singh has undertaken three advanced international training programmes to develop expertise at the highest level.

He completed an International Clinical Fellowship in Arthroplasty and Arthroscopy at the Evangelisches Krankenhaus (EKH), Vienna, Austria (July 2025 – January 2026), followed by an Observership in Sports Injury Management at the Sports Injury Centre (SIC), New Delhi (January 2026), and a Fellowship in Hip and Knee Surgery (Robotic Joint Replacement) at Nara Medical University, Nara, Japan (February – March 2026).

These fellowships, combined with six years of rigorous training at AIIMS New Delhi, have equipped Dr. Singh with the surgical expertise and international perspective to deliver world-class orthopaedic care in Jaipur.

Arthroscopy and Sports Injury Management

In addition to joint replacement, Dr. Singh has a strong clinical focus on arthroscopic (keyhole) management of sports injuries involving the knee, shoulder, and other joints. This includes ACL reconstruction, meniscal repair and resection, rotator cuff surgery, and shoulder stabilisation procedures.

His observership at the Sports Injury Centre (SIC), New Delhi — one of India's premier sports medicine institutions — further strengthened his expertise in managing complex sports injuries in both recreational and elite athletes.

Dr. Singh's areas of special interest include Arthroscopy and Sports Injury, Knee and Shoulder Surgery, and Traumatology, Osteotomy and Deformity Correction.

Trauma Surgery and Complex Fracture Management

Dr. Singh has extensive experience in the management of orthopaedic trauma and complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular trauma — one of the most technically demanding areas of orthopaedic surgery.

During his six years at AIIMS New Delhi, he was trained in and performed the full spectrum of orthopaedic trauma surgery — from simple fracture fixation to complex reconstructive procedures. His postgraduate thesis focused on posterior ligament complex injuries in traumatic thoracolumbar burst fractures, demonstrating his early academic commitment to trauma surgery.

He has attended multiple AO Trauma courses, including the Advanced Principles of Fracture Management course (2025), and regularly participates in cadaveric workshops and specialist symposia.

My Approach to Patient Care

Dr. Singh is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centric orthopaedic care with a focus on precision, safety, and optimal functional outcomes. His approach is always conservative-first — surgery is recommended only when conservative measures are no longer sufficient and the patient's quality of life is significantly affected.

When surgery is indicated, Dr. Singh uses the most modern minimally invasive techniques — including robotic-assisted surgery, the DAA/AMIS approach for hip replacement, and arthroscopic keyhole procedures — to minimise recovery time and maximise long-term results.

My goal is to help patients regain their mobility and quality of life — through precise diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, and surgery only when it is truly necessary.
